why whouldn't you count...of course you can babysit all of our children!! ha ha But seriously, please join us, parents need all the support we can use!
i dont know exactly how I can help. I have a four year old and was pregnant during the year (im an '06-'07 resident) and it was hard. i just braced myself and didnt make any excuses because i knew it would be hard before i started. i had a really good support system, so when i needed to send my son off or when i had to stay late at school, or had classes, i knew i could lean on my support system. i didnt really think of the work load or complain about it, i just did it. i refused to do anything btr related on the weekends, and devoted sunday's to my son. i dont know if this helps, but if you have any questions, or just need someone to talk/vent with, you can contact me. anfrancillon@gmail.com
I have a little boy - Jabari Njoroge - who is 18 months old, amazing in every way and CRAZY!
And for the record, I am a bit terrified of what it's going to be like juggling parenthood and the BTR program so I'm really glad we're starting a parent support group.
For those of you who have been following the blog, we have had offers via e-mail I'd like to refer to here:
Single BTR peers offering babysitting, I won't throw them out there, I'm sure they'll stop by the blog sooner or later, Mira offered the idea of getting together after class at the school as to avoid more stress of having to run out and meet somewhere else, Marci has seconded it, and BTR staff members have been eager to help (and join).
By the way check out Akua-Nia's comment...this is proof that it is possible and she seconds the idea of needing a support group!
So please...if you know a good babysitter, school, park, kiddie league, free family "stuff", need to keep your children entertained with other children whose parents are going through your same experience post it here!
so I took my daughter (3yrs old) to school today...she says MY school is pretty and she likes my friends(meaning anyone she met today)! Just thought I'd let you guys know...

Great idea Ana
I don't if I count (I'm not really "in" the program the way you probably meant it, but trust me, I'm in the program).
I have one child - a son, Isaiah. He's two and a bit.
